Since Ryanair has gone public with the idea that bloggers who might write about their experiences with the company are "lunatic bloggers"... I thought I would explore advertising in their inflight magazine. Of course, I doubt Ryanair would call bloggers that write about positive experiences to be "lunatics".
I would of course, consider any company that expects 100% of their customers and potential customers to have had positive experiences to be lunatic companies! Additionally, any company that would expect customers with bad experiences to keep quiet is surely in need of some serious psychiatric medication
Too bad it seems Ryanair would prefer to insult customers who feel the service has been lacking rather than instituting a feedback cycle to use such customer feelings to improve their systems. It is the customers, not the stuffy board rooms, overpaid executives or group meetings that have the ultimate say in the success or failure of any business!
Now, I found the email address for information on advertising in the Ryanair Inflight Magazine through Ryanair's website. I fired off a quick email, I thought expressing my interest quite well. I also self described myself as a "lunatic" (because I had just published a blog post that wasn't much in support of Ryanair.) Curiously, I noticed the PR firm for Aer Lingus viewed that blog post before anyone at Ryanair!

I would be interested in details on advertising my blog in the Ryanair
Inflight Magazine. Though some might say that I am a "lunatic
blogger," I think your magazine might be a perfect demographic fit.
Thanks,
Wilbur

Now, it seems that Ryanair's Inflight Magazine is fairly anxious for my advertising (or at least my advertising dollars), as they are encouraging me to participate in a "late space" opportunity very quickly. I'll need to see if I can get a better deal from the inflight magazine for Aer Lingus first.
