I was reading about Capital One's savings accounts today and they failed to offer a very important bit of information in their FAQ's.They say you can wire funds from your Capital One Savings Account to another bank, with the condition that the receiving account is in the same name: You can wire funds out of your Online Savings Account only if the receiving account is in the name of, or for the benefit of, the Online Savings Account owner or beneficiary (in deceased situations only). Wires can not be sent to third parties, including escrow accounts, and title companies. Please complete our Wire Request Form. Failure to submit a complete and accurate wire request will delay the wire from being processed.Note there is a $20.00 service charge to process an outbound wire. No problem, except they fail to say whether you are limited to US Bank Accounts or whether you can wire funds to a foreign account in your name. It might have taken 1 or 2 more words in their FAQ to clarify that.I emailed asking and instead of getting an answer, I was told to: To protect our customers’ accounts, Capital One does not handle account-specific inquiries via unsecured email. If you are currently a Capital One customer, please log into Capital One Online Banking and send us a secured message.
or, in my words... I was told to take a hike! I asked the simple question in order to decide whether to open an account or not. I am certainly not going to go through the convolutions of opening an account to ask a simple question to decide if I want to open an account! And, for sure, I am not going to waste my time calling a "toll free" line to get an answer to such a simple question. The shareholders of Capital One should be ashamed their business makes it so hard for someone to do busines with them. I picked up a logitech mouse yesterday and I hope my purchasing decision was not influenced by the "easy opening" claim on the package!!Most of the mice for sale where in hard plastic shells. You couldn't possibly feel each mouse to decide which one was most comfortable for you. I like the Logitech mouse but the packaging was a cruel joke. "Easy opening push here." You push there and just have the corner of the package bent. You are no closer to an open package than before you "pushed here". After using a lot of force and bending and twisted I resorted to the sissors and then it was easy! Actually getting the package open by "push here" probably would have resulted to a tremendous amount of anger and blood when I ripped the sides of my arms, hands and fingers from the rough plastic edges. Logitech should keep to making mice and forge the fancy packaging that will just piss off their customers. I think these hard plastic shells on products also discourage consumers from returning products as the packaging will be demolished and they will feel like it is not in new condition. The packaging was simply a bad idea and adding some claim that it is easy to open is just a cruel joke foisted upon consumers by Logitech.
